How Intersection Crashes on Busy Highways Can Become Severe
Crashes at intersections along major highways often involve vehicles traveling at different speeds and directions. When one vehicle crosses into the path of another, the resulting impact can be significant due to the combined force of both vehicles.
High-traffic routes like U.S. highways can increase the complexity of intersection navigation. Drivers may need to judge gaps in fast-moving traffic while also monitoring signals and cross traffic.
In multi-occupant crashes, emergency response teams typically prioritize rapid medical evaluation and transport. Even when injuries are initially treatable, some conditions may worsen after arrival at the hospital.
