Why Head-On Crashes Lead to Entrapment Situations
Head-on crashes can cause severe front-end damage, potentially trapping occupants inside the vehicle. When the front structure collapses, doors and frames can become difficult or impossible to open.
Entrapment requires careful removal techniques using specialized tools. Emergency crews work to stabilize the vehicle before freeing those inside to prevent further injury.
These types of crashes often happen when a vehicle crosses into oncoming traffic. The direct impact between vehicles can result in significant force, increasing the risk of serious injuries and necessitating extrication.
