The crash occurred just after 3:00 p.m. along Caldron Falls Road near Fawn Loan. Authorities said the UTV was traveling northbound when it failed to navigate a curve and rolled over.
Emergency responders arrived to find two individuals pinned beneath the vehicle. An off-duty sheriff’s detective who witnessed the crash began providing aid before crews arrived.
The driver, identified as 40-year-old Brooke Boulanger of Crivitz, died from her injuries. A passenger in the vehicle was transported to a hospital for treatment.
Officials reported that neither occupant was wearing a seatbelt or helmet at the time of the crash. Speed and alcohol are believed to have contributed to the incident.
Authorities continue to investigate the crash, and more details will be released as they become available. We extend our sincere condolences to the family of the deceased.
Why Safety Equipment and Speed Play a Role in UTV Crashes
UTVs can become unstable, especially when navigating curves at higher speeds. Without proper restraint systems, occupants may be ejected or pinned during a rollover.
Helmets and seatbelts can significantly reduce the severity of injuries in these situations.
Avoiding excessive speed and not operating vehicles under the influence are key steps in preventing serious off-road crashes.
