Head-On Collisions Often Cause Extensive Vehicle Damage
Head-on crashes are among the most severe types of roadway collisions because both vehicles absorb the force of impact directly from the front. Even at moderate speeds, these crashes can leave vehicles heavily damaged and create a higher risk of injury for occupants.
Roads with narrow lanes or limited visibility can increase the likelihood of head-on impacts, especially when vehicles drift across the centerline. Trucks and SUVs involved in these crashes may also require extensive recovery efforts due to their size and damage.
After a serious collision, roads are often closed while crews assess injuries, remove damaged vehicles, and clear debris from the roadway. Investigators may later review vehicle positions, skid marks, and roadway conditions to help determine how the crash occurred.
