Amana, IA (July 12, 2026) – An afternoon collision claimed the lives of two people on Thursday afternoon, July 9, at US Highway 151 and 110th Street in Iowa County.
According to preliminary information, the collision happened around 2:45 p.m. and involved a 2023 Kenworth construction vehicle and a 2014 Ford Escape. The Ford Escape was traveling west on 110th Street toward the highway when it failed to stop at a stop sign. The vehicle entered the intersection and collided with the southbound construction vehicle. Both vehicles came to rest in the southwest ditch.
The Ford driver, a 33-year-old from Amana, and a 14-year-old passenger from North Liberty died in the crash. Their identities have not been released. Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash, and more details will be released as soon as they become available.
