How Tractor-Trailer Crashes Can Become Fatal
Crashes involving large commercial trucks often result in severe or fatal injuries because of the size and weight differences between trucks and passenger vehicles. Even minor errors by the truck driver, such as misjudging speed or distance, can lead to multi-vehicle collisions.
Construction zones and highway work areas add another layer of risk, with workers exposed on the roadside and traffic patterns altered. Investigators typically review vehicle positions, skid marks, and driver actions to understand how the crash unfolded. Highway conditions, visibility, and the presence of construction equipment are also examined to assess contributing factors.
