Why Intersection Collisions Involving Large Trucks Can Be Severe
Crashes involving large trucks at intersections often result in significant damage and injuries due to the size and weight difference between vehicles. When a semi-truck strikes a smaller vehicle from the side, the impact can be especially dangerous for occupants, as side protection is more limited.
In many cases, victims may become trapped inside their vehicles, requiring specialized rescue efforts to safely extricate them. These types of crashes frequently lead to serious injuries and may require air transport to trauma centers for immediate care. Increased awareness, reduced speeds, and careful navigation through high-risk intersections can help lower the likelihood of such incidents.
