What Happens After a Hit-and-Run Crash Involving a Pedestrian?
After a hit-and-run crash, investigators often rely on physical evidence left behind at the scene. This may include broken vehicle parts, paint fragments, or debris that can help identify the type and color of the vehicle involved. These details are sometimes key in narrowing down potential suspects.
Witness accounts can also provide helpful leads, especially if someone nearby saw the vehicle before or after the crash. Surveillance footage from nearby roads or businesses may also be reviewed to track the vehicle’s path.
In cases involving pedestrians, medical evaluations are often used to better understand how the impact occurred. Injury patterns can sometimes match the vehicle’s height or structure, offering additional clues during the review process.
