Banning, CA (January 2, 2026) – At least two people were hospitalized following a two-vehicle collision caused by hydroplaning on eastbound Interstate 10 near Ramsey St on New Year’s Day, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The incident took place around 11:50 a.m. when a white Chevrolet Cruze reportedly lost control and spun out, ending up facing the wrong direction in active traffic lanes. Moments later, a black Nissan Altima also hydroplaned and struck the disabled Chevrolet.
Firefighters and AMR crews responded to the scene and assisted the involved motorists. Two individuals were treated for minor injuries and transported to a nearby hospital for further evaluation.
Both vehicles sustained damage and were removed from the scene by tow crews. Authorities are continuing to investigate the crash, including weather-related road conditions as a contributing factor.
