What Factors Are Reviewed After School Bus Accidents?
After a crash involving a school bus, several factors are typically examined to better understand what happened. Road conditions at the time, including traffic flow and visibility, are often reviewed. Investigators may also look at the position and movement of each vehicle involved before impact.
Vehicle condition can also provide helpful insight. Brake systems, tire condition, and overall maintenance history may be checked to rule out mechanical issues. In addition, the size and weight differences between vehicles, such as buses and trucks, can affect how a crash develops.
Driver actions are another key part of the review. Speed, reaction time, and awareness of surrounding traffic may all be considered when piecing together the sequence of events.
