Why Do Early Morning Crashes Often Lead to Road Closures?
Busy routes like Dallas Highway can see a mix of commuter and local traffic, even in the early morning hours. When a crash occurs during this time, lane closures can quickly affect traffic flow as more drivers enter the roadway.
Lower light conditions before sunrise may reduce visibility for drivers. This can make it harder to judge distances or spot hazards, increasing the chance of a collision.
When crashes block multiple lanes, crews often need full access to the roadway to clear vehicles and assist those involved. This can lead to temporary closures until the scene is safe for traffic to resume.
