Why Bicycle and Vehicle Collisions Can Be Especially Severe
Crashes involving bicycles and vehicles often result in serious injuries because cyclists lack the protection that enclosed vehicles provide. Even at lower speeds, the impact can cause significant injury.
Roadways near residential or campus areas may see a mix of pedestrians, cyclists, and vehicles. This can increase the chance of conflicts, especially during busy hours.
Visibility, speed, and right-of-way awareness are key factors in these incidents. Drivers and cyclists both need to remain alert and follow traffic rules to reduce the risk of collisions.
