Why Motorcycle Crashes With Passenger Vehicles Often Result in Severe Injuries
Motorcycles offer far less physical protection than standard passenger vehicles. When a motorcycle crashes into a car or truck, the rider is often exposed to the full force of the impact.
Even collisions at moderate speeds can cause serious harm to motorcyclists. Without the protective frame of a vehicle, riders are more vulnerable to injury when thrown from a bike or struck in a collision.
Road conditions, visibility, and reaction time can also influence how these crashes occur. Drivers may have difficulty spotting motorcycles, especially at night or on roads with curves or limited lighting.
Because of these risks, motorcycle crashes frequently result in more severe injuries than collisions involving only passenger vehicles.
