What Can Lead to Head-on Collisions at Intersections
Head-on crashes often happen when a vehicle crosses into oncoming traffic. This can occur for several reasons, including confusion at intersections, poor visibility, or driver error. Intersections with multiple access points may increase the chance of vehicles entering the wrong lane.
These types of collisions can be especially serious due to the direct impact between vehicles. Even at moderate speeds, the force involved can result in severe consequences.
Road design, lighting, and clear signage may help reduce confusion in busy areas. Drivers are generally advised to remain alert when approaching intersections and to double-check lane positioning before proceeding.
