How Left-Turn Crashes Commonly Happen at City Intersections
Left-turn crashes are among the most frequent types of intersection collisions. They often occur when a turning driver misjudges the speed or distance of oncoming traffic.
Intersections with moderate to heavy traffic can increase the challenge of making safe turns, especially when visibility is limited or traffic signals change quickly.
Driver distraction and timing errors are also common contributing factors. Maintaining caution, yielding properly, and ensuring a clear gap in traffic can help reduce the risk of these incidents.
