Why Failure to Yield at Rural Intersections Can Be Deadly
Crashes at rural intersections often occur when drivers fail to properly yield at stop signs or misjudge the speed of oncoming traffic.
Highway traffic may be moving faster, leaving little time to react when a vehicle enters the roadway unexpectedly.
Even when seatbelts are used, the force of impact in these situations can result in severe or fatal injuries.
