How Impaired Driving Increases the Risk of Intersection Crashes
Intersections like US 45 N and KY1241 require drivers to make quick decisions about speed, distance, and right of way. When a driver is impaired by alcohol or drugs, reaction time and judgment can be significantly reduced.
Even small delays in braking or steering can lead to a collision, especially on highways where vehicles may be traveling at higher speeds. Impairment can also affect a driver’s ability to stay in their lane or properly assess traffic conditions.
Crashes involving suspected impairment often result in both injuries and criminal charges. These incidents highlight the ongoing risk posed by driving under the influence and the impact it can have on others sharing the road.
