Pedestrian Crashes Can Occur During Routine Road Crossings
Pedestrian crashes often happen when people attempt to cross busy roadways. Visibility, timing, and traffic flow all influence how safely a person can cross.
Urban streets may not always have designated crossing points nearby, which can lead to people crossing mid-block. This can increase the risk of being struck by passing vehicles.
Driver awareness and speed can also affect how quickly a vehicle can stop. When a pedestrian enters the roadway unexpectedly, reaction time becomes a key factor in avoiding a crash.
