How Highway Crashes Near Intersections Are Typically Investigated
Crashes on highways near intersections often require careful reconstruction to understand vehicle positions and movement patterns before impact. Investigators commonly examine roadway markings, debris fields, and vehicle damage.
Speed and traffic flow are also key factors, especially on divided highways where vehicles may be entering or exiting near cross streets. These areas can create complex traffic interactions between local and through traffic.
Medical examiners and crash investigators work together to confirm timelines and causes of injury or death, helping establish a clearer picture of how the incident unfolded.
