Police said the impact triggered a chain-reaction collision. The gray sedan was pushed into the rear of a gray SUV, which then struck the back of a black sedan.
Emergency units responded to the crash and transported three people to a local hospital for treatment. Authorities have not yet released information regarding the conditions or identities of those injured.
The incident remains under investigation.

What Often Causes Rear-End Chain-Reaction Crashes?
Rear-end chain-reaction crashes often occur when traffic slows suddenly, and following drivers do not have enough time or distance to stop safely. These incidents are especially common on busy highways and major intersections with heavy traffic flow.
Investigators typically review vehicle speed, following distance, and driver reaction times when examining multi-vehicle rear-end crashes. Even a single impact can push vehicles forward into additional collisions, increasing the number of damaged vehicles and injured occupants. Traffic congestion, distractions, and sudden braking are also commonly considered during crash reconstruction. Vehicle damage patterns and roadway evidence can help determine how the sequence of impacts unfolded.
