Lordsburg, NM (April 3, 2026) – A charter bus carrying passengers overturned early on Friday morning, April 3, along Interstate 10 east of Lordsburg, leaving multiple people injured.
The crash occurred around mile marker 34 on the westbound side of the highway. Officials reported that the bus rolled over, prompting a large emergency response to assist those on board.
Approximately 30 passengers were evacuated from the vehicle. Two people were airlifted from the scene, and about a dozen others were taken to nearby hospitals. The conditions of those injured have not been confirmed.
Several passengers who were not hurt were transported to a nearby county facility, where they were provided shelter and assistance while awaiting further arrangements. The bus had been traveling from Ciudad Juárez to Phoenix at the time of the crash.
The right lane of Interstate 10 was closed for about two hours as crews worked to clear the scene before reopening later in the morning; the crash remains under investigation.
