Georgetown Township, MI (May 23, 2026) – A 32-year-old Jenison man died on Friday morning, May 22, after a collision involving a motorcycle and an SUV at Cottonwood Drive and Summerset Drive in Georgetown Township.
The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office said the crash happened around 8:50 a.m. when the man was operating a Yamaha motorcycle and turned into the path of a northbound SUV traveling on Cottonwood Drive.
The motorcyclist was pronounced dead as a result of his injuries. The SUV driver, a 21-year-old man from Grand Rapids, was injured in the crash. Two passengers were also inside the SUV, and one of them sustained injuries. Both the driver and at least one passenger were taken to a hospital for treatment.
Cottonwood Drive was closed between Baldwin Street and Bauer Road for several hours while emergency units responded and assisted at the scene. The roadway has since reopened.
