What Investigators Typically Examine After a Head-on Crash
After a head-on collision, early attention usually focuses on vehicle positions, lane markings, and roadway layout. These details help establish how the vehicles came into contact and whether one crossed into oncoming traffic.
Driver behavior leading up to the crash is also reviewed, including speed and lane control. In many cases, investigators rely on physical evidence from the roadway and vehicle damage patterns to reconstruct the sequence of events.
Medical reports can later add context by confirming the severity of injuries. Weather and visibility conditions may also be considered, especially when no immediate cause is clear from the scene.
These combined details help build a clearer picture of how the crash developed over time.
