What Is Typically Reviewed After a Speed-Related Crash?
In crashes where speed is believed to be a factor, investigators often examine how fast the vehicle was traveling before impact. This may involve reviewing skid marks, vehicle damage, and roadway evidence.
The position of both vehicles at the time of the crash is also analyzed. This helps determine how the collision occurred and whether one vehicle entered another’s path unexpectedly.
Injury severity is often influenced by speed, especially in high-impact crashes. These cases may also include a review of driver behavior leading up to the incident to better understand the sequence of events.
