Pedestrian Fatalities on Busy Roadways
Pedestrians face serious dangers when walking along heavily traveled roadways, particularly at night, when visibility may be reduced. Crashes involving pedestrians often result in severe injuries due to the lack of physical protection against moving vehicles.
Safety officials encourage drivers to remain alert for pedestrians at all times and urge pedestrians to use crosswalks, sidewalks, and reflective clothing whenever possible to improve visibility and reduce the risk of collisions.
