Jacksonville, FL (July 10, 2026) – A major collision involving injuries caused heavy traffic delays early on Thursday morning on Interstate 295 southbound near the San Jose Boulevard area in Duval County.
The Florida Highway Patrol reported the crash occurred on the southbound lanes of I-295 West before the San Jose Boulevard exit. Two left lanes were blocked as emergency units worked at the site, and traffic was further affected by a temporary roadblock in the area.
Officials confirmed the collision involved injuries, but the number of people hurt and the severity of those injuries were not immediately released. The roadway was cleared at approximately 6:30 a.m.
Shortly after the roadway reopened, a van that had been caught in the traffic backup became disabled in the inside lane, creating additional delays for commuters. All lanes have since reopened, and normal traffic flow has resumed. Investigators continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the accident.
