Motorcycle Intersection Crashes in Wisconsin
Motorcycle crashes at intersections often result in severe or fatal injuries due to the limited protection riders have during collisions with larger vehicles. Even low-speed impacts can cause catastrophic outcomes when motorcycles strike trucks or other passenger vehicles.
Intersections on rural highways can present additional hazards, especially during nighttime driving when visibility may be reduced. Drivers approaching intersections are urged to remain alert for motorcycles and carefully judge the speed and distance of oncoming traffic before entering or crossing roadways.
Crash reconstruction teams frequently assist in fatal collisions to help investigators determine vehicle positions, right-of-way conditions, visibility factors, and other circumstances surrounding the incident.
Officials continue investigating the fatal crash in the Town of Montpelier.
