How On-Ramp Collisions Can Occur
Crashes on freeway entrance ramps often happen as drivers accelerate to merge with highway traffic. Differences in vehicle speeds, limited visibility, failure to yield, and sudden braking can all contribute to collisions in these areas.
Following an on-ramp crash, investigators typically review vehicle damage, roadway evidence, witness statements, and traffic conditions to determine the sequence of events. Damaged vehicles may require towing, and anyone reporting pain or possible injuries is often transported to a hospital for further evaluation, even when injuries are not immediately believed to be severe.
