The Vancouver Police Department is continuing to investigate the incident and said additional details may be released as the case develops.
We hope for a full recovery for those injured in this crash.
Why Police Pursuits Can Lead to Serious Highway Collisions
The police pursuits can create dangerous situations on busy highways when suspects attempt to evade law enforcement at high speeds.
Roadways such as Interstate 205 often carry steady traffic, and sudden maneuvers during pursuits can increase the risk of collisions involving law enforcement vehicles and other motorists.
When spike strips or other pursuit-ending tactics are used, suspects may still attempt to continue driving, sometimes leading to crashes if the vehicle becomes difficult to control.
Investigators reviewing incidents near major highway junctions like State Route 14 typically analyze pursuit procedures, vehicle speeds, and roadway conditions to determine how the crash occurred.
