Dangers at Uncontrolled Rural Intersections
Crashes at uncontrolled rural intersections can be especially dangerous due to limited traffic controls, reduced visibility, and higher travel speeds on county roads. Drivers approaching these intersections may not always recognize crossing traffic in time to avoid a collision.
Transportation safety officials encourage motorists to slow down when approaching rural intersections, remain alert for cross traffic, and use extra caution at intersections without stop signs or traffic signals.
