Kokomo, IN (January 22, 2026) – Kokomo Police are investigating a hit-and-run accident that left one person injured on January 5 at the intersection of Apperson Way and Vaile Ave. The crash occurred just after noon, and the suspect fled the scene before officers could arrive.

According to police, the incident took place at approximately 12:04 p.m. and involved two vehicles. One of the vehicles remained at the intersection when law enforcement arrived, while the second vehicle – described as a white 2014–2016 Jeep Cherokee – left the scene heading in an unknown direction.

Emergency medical services responded to care for the injured driver, who was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. The extent of their injuries has not been disclosed, but the crash was confirmed to have resulted in personal injury.
