Emergency Response to Off-Ramp Collisions
Crashes on freeway off-ramps can create hazardous conditions because vehicles are often slowing down while transitioning from highway speeds to surface streets. Limited shoulder space and merging traffic can also make emergency response more challenging.
When responding to these incidents, investigators typically assess vehicle damage, roadway evidence, witness statements, and traffic conditions to determine what led to the collision. If injuries are reported, emergency medical personnel evaluate those involved before damaged vehicles are removed and the roadway is reopened.
